  • Half a playgroup we attended

That's only the second time she attended a playgroup after we had moved our home.  Occupied by periods of resettlement and sickness, she lost the pace of schooling and lacked the patience and the response during a class.  That's why she was very sleepy and puzzled at the 3-pm session yesterday.  Worst still the thundering on the day before upset her bio-clock a lot.

Troubled by the traffic under the rain, we were late for 5 minutes.  I didn't know the class hadn't really started after the "15-minute warmup" for the kids.  When the instructor came, she could remember most of the kids' names, of course not including Clarice.  Kids were very much used to the rountine rundown of the class.  Clarice grabbed me several time, hinting to me her wish to be carried away for some sleep.  When it came to reading time, Clarice behaved completely different from that at home and she couldn't help yawning for several times.  At 1545, she could no long stand with the class.  No choice seems available to me but to take everything and leave right then.

15 minutes after we left the school, she slept soundly as if she didn't sleep for days...

  • The end of real analogue effect?

The 21st century marked the death of analogue life.  Digital power comes to every nerve of our surroundings.  People in elder generation (like me) are still nostalgic in the oldies. Attempts to retrieve the past memory, I even tried buying a 2nd hand mechanic camera and a flip clock thro' eBay some years ago.  For some past memory, we just can no longer purchase, like those Polaroid photos.  Luckily, I was introduced a Polaroid Image Maker software by my cousin, Andy.  Wow... though the experience itself is no match with the real one, the result is VERY satisfactory!

I happened to accompany Stephane and Christope (French Police Officers) and briefed them our operation in HKIA.  Unlike the situation in Hong Kong, French Police is ulimately responsible for immigration, customs and other discplinary enforcement duties.   Back in their Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, there are 7 terminals.  The first one opened in the 1970s but the latest one opened last year (in my best memory).  Our dearest mainlanders after arriving at Terminal 2 of CDG Airport, pending the onward transit flight, they would cut through the wires and fences in the airport, and sneaked into Paris city.  It sounds to me very surprising and old-fashioned for a European airport.

While our mainland comrades from Fujian Province were so renowned for their international migration with very sophisticated forged passports,  I just could not believed that there were illegal migrants from the third world attempting to sneak through the French Police in a way out of our 21st-century imagination.

Stephane said, in his experience, he saw an African tried to walked straight into the immigration clearance counter, Without trying to sneak or hide himself, or even showing his passport, he just walked past the policeman silently.  The policeman stopped him for passport examination.  The African immediately looked shocked and wondered why the policeman could see him.  After being arrested, he explained to the Police that he gave his own land, cattle and wife to the wizard in his village and asked the wizard to cast a spell upon him to make himself invisible...

    a real classic tragic comedy~
